To ensure your transactions are secure, City Bank requires multi-factor authentication for online ACH origination and wire transfers.
Symantec VIP Access can be downloaded on desktop, laptop, or mobile devices.


Required Steps
- Download Symantec VIP Access for all ACH and wire approvers
- One Symantec Credential ID per user login
- Contact Houston Treasury Client Support to verify Credential ID

Remote Deposit Capture Software Update
To use Remote Deposit Capture, the previous scanner software must be uninstalled and the new scanner software must be downloaded. This allows check to be scanned and deposited properly.
- Uninstalling and installation only takes a few minutes
- Check scanners do not need to be replaced

Online Administrators Verification Needed
City Bank completed extensive validations for the Bank of Houston merge, but administrators should verify the following:
- Verify non-administrator users and permissions Admin User Guide
- Verify payment templates in Treasury Management > Payments Page Payment Template Guide
- Confirm all ACH and wire approvers have Symantec VIP Credential ID
- Resubmit recurring and future-dated transactions with effective dates after May 8
- Review each Positive Pay user confirm rights and account access. If action is needed, please follow the Positive Pay User Guide.
- For ACH or Wire approvals with dual control, communication between the originator and approver will be needed.

Positive Pay
- Email notices sent when exceptions are released
- Email notices sent one hour prior to cutoff time
- SMS notices available and encouraged (Positive Pay Notifications)
- 24/7 issued check upload availability
- Exception cutoff time: 2:00 pm CST
May 12: Exceptions and notices will resume normal processing.
Online Wires
- Wires over $50,000 have enhanced security measures with Wire Department verification
- Communication between originators and approvers combats fraud attempts for Dual Control
- Multi-factor authentication required using Symantec VIP Access
ACH Origination

- External transfers available only for retail customers - Contact Treasury Consultant to enroll business accounts in ACH Origination
You will not be able to access QuickBooks or Quicken May 9 -11 while the conversion process is taking place. On Tuesday, May 12 you will need to deactivate the connection to Bank of Houston then reconnect to City Bank.
